Volunteer with us!

Whether you would like to gain experience through an international internship or to improve your Spanish, if you’re taking a gap year or thinking about a retirement adventure, volunteering abroad is a great way to see the world while making a meaningful contribution to the community.

We are always looking for compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers willing to commit as much time as possible to helping the children at both of our projects. Below is a list of skills and attributes that we look for in our volunteers. However, please keep in mind that anyone is welcome to apply. Above all, what is most needed, is a passion for helping others. We also offer internships for those looking to support in the office and in the projects.

Desired Skills:

  • Basic to intermediate Spanish, or a willingness to learn

  • Experience working with children or teaching

Successful Volunteers will be:

  • Organized and reliable

  • Creative and resourceful

  • Flexible and responsive to the frequently changing needs of the organization and community

  • Approachable and personable to build effective relationships with the Volunteers Peru team, children, and locals

  • Understanding of our relationship with the projects as one of assisting local efforts rather than dictating what those efforts should look like.

If you would like to be a part of the Volunteers Peru team, please fill out our online application

We also ask that applicants email us a copy of their CV/resume and a reference letter from an employer or professor. Once we have your application form, CV/resume and reference letter, we will arrange a Skype interview with you.

Please note: we ask of our volunteers a one time donation of $230 USD, applicable to our projects. This donation is our only funding to help with our projects. Please visit Donations to see how we use the donations we receive to support the children in our community. Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page to find information about lodging and other expenses.
