GET TO KNOW THE VOLUNTEERS PERU STAFF!

Marita is originally from Tomepampa in Cotahuasi Canyon, a very rural and remote area. As a former student of Honofre Benavides School in Tomepampa, she recognized that there was need for additional educational support and a broadening of cultural awareness. She began sending tour groups to Cotahuasi, and realized that foreign volunteers could bring a new perspective to the classroom and provide students with cross-cultural exposure and experiences. With that, Volunteers Peru was born! Though sending volunteers to our projects, Marita has realized her dream of giving back to her community.
